West Mecklenburg hasn't had much luck against South Mecklenburg recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sabres at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a Battle of the Birds when West Mecklenburg duked it out with Rocky River on Tuesday. The Hawks came up short against the Ravens, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, South Mecklenburg faced Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Sabres and the Panthers finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time South Mecklenburg have been dealt a draw since back in September.

West Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-16-2. South Mecklenburg's draw gives them a new season record of 11-4-4.
