The Brockway Rovers will take on the Kane Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brockway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Brockway came up short against Bradford and fell 8-4. The Rovers haven't had much luck with the Owls recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Kyle Kennedy made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Ben Yale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Kane couldn't beat DuBois Central Catholic on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Wolves came up short against the Cardinals, falling 17-7. While the Wolves didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cardinals 4-0 in the first period.
Kane saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Phinn Chamberlain, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Brockway's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Kane, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Kane's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brockway has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Kane, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Brockway's sizable advantage in that area, the Wolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
Brockway got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against Kane by a conclusive 14-3 score. Do the Rovers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
