Christopher is 8-2 against Gilroy since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will take on the Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. Christopher's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Gilroy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Christopher is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pioneer just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Gilroy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Ann Sobrato.

Eric Hernandez was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hernandez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Hernandez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Hilton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Gilroy is 3-1 when Hilton posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise.

Christopher's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Gilroy, their record is now 6-9.

Christopher took their victory against Gilroy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
