Softball Recap: Early College Takes a Loss

Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sussex Academy Seahawks. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 16-2 to the Seahawks when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Sussex Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Early College will head out to square off against Sts. Peter & Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sussex Academy, they will face off against Dover at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Senators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.09 runs per game on average), something the Seahawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
