Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Circleville

Circleville waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 on April 1st.

Peyton Sells spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits.

At the plate, Makaylee Holbrook and Jenna Boring did most of the damage at the plate: Holbrook went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Boring went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Boring has posted over her last 11 matchups. Rylee Starner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Circleville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

The victory got Circleville back to even at 7-7. As for Amanda-Clearcreek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Circleville will head out to challenge Grove City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Amanda-Clearcreek, they will venture away from home to face off against Liberty Union at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Aces will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
