Basketball Recap: Edgewood Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edgewood). They skirted past the Eaton Eagles 53-50. The win was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Edgewood's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Allen, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamdyn Buck, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Edgewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Edgewood's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12. As for Eaton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Edgewood Cougars take on the Franklin Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Edgewood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Eaton, they will square off against Carlisle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
