Volleyball Recap: Piedmont Comes Up Short

Piedmont lost against Castro Valley on October 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Highlanders lost 3-0 to the Trojans.

Piedmont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-19.

Maika Ting paced Piedmont's offense, picking up eight kills. Ting got some help from Allyson Huynh and her eight assists.

Piedmont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Castro Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Piedmont has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Bishop O'Dowd on the 24th. As for Castro Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Berkeley on the 23rd.
