Basketball Recap: Catalina Comes Up Short

Catalina extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were beaten by the Desert View Jaguars 42-13. The matchup marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Desert View's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since January 8th (when they won 77-16).

Desert View found their leader in sophomore Robert Medrano, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Medrano. Damien Borquez was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Catalina will head out to face off against San Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Desert View, they will venture away from home to challenge Maricopa at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
