Basketball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

Pioneer lost against Caston back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pioneer Panthers fell just short of the Caston Comets by a score of 42-39.

Caston found their leader in sophomore Lane Hook, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Mollenkopf, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Caston, they moved to 6-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Pioneer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-34 win against South Newton on the 1st. As for Caston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-35 defeat against Tri-County on the 1st.
