Baseball Recap: Branson Takes a Loss

Branson was the 5-2 winner over Terra Linda when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulls fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 7-6 on Friday.

Treyvor Mathews made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Branson's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 6-11 when he doesn't). Jonah Bordon was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Branson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Terra Linda, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17.

Looking ahead, Branson will challenge Berean Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Terra Linda, they will take on Novato at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
