Lake Norman is 6-1 against West Cabarrus since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lake Norman Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. Lake Norman is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Lake Norman had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Butler on Thursday. Lake Norman was the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Butler. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.
Lake Norman got a great performance from Caden Beaver as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick Mavroudis, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Christian Sandoval, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, West Cabarrus was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lake Norman by a score of 3-1. The Wolverines have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meetings.
West Cabarrus saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cage Love, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Lake Norman pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for West Cabarrus, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Lake Norman's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. Lake Norman has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for West Cabarrus, though, as they've been averaging only 0.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lake Norman continue to outrun the ball?
