Basketball Recap: Hurricane Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Hurricane won the last time they faced Ripley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hurricane Redskins came out on top against the Ripley Vikings by a score of 55-42. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Vikings are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Hurricane and bumps their season record up to 15-2. As for Ripley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hurricane will face off against George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. George Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Hurricane likes a good challenge. As for Ripley, they will take on Nicholas County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
