Basketball Recap: Northside Comes Up Short

Northside played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 61-35 to the Tri-Cities Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 63rd).

Tri-Cities' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alyssia Bandele, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Bandele a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Paris Shelton, who posted 19 points and three steals.

Northside now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Tri-Cities, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Northside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-39 loss against Mundy's Mill on the 28th. As for Tri-Cities, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-45 victory against Westside on the 28th.
