Basketball Game Preview: Hope Blue Wave vs. Cumberland Clippers + How To Watch

The Hope Blue Wave just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Cumberland Clippers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Hope turned things around against Woonsocket on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-34 victory over the Villa Novans. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Wave have posted since January 6, 2025.

Hope found their leader in sophomore Brithany Urizar, who posted 19 points along with seven steals and six boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which Urizar has scored at least a third of the Blue Wave's points. Another player making a difference was Ja'Ray Washington, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Cumberland faced Coventry in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Clippers slipped by the Oakers 45-44. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Oakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hope's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Cumberland, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
