Basketball Game Preview: Stuarts Draft Cougars vs. Buffalo Gap Bison

The Stuarts Draft Cougars will head out to face off against the Buffalo Gap Bison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Stuarts Draft is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Staunton, falling 70-47. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Storm are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buffalo Gap). They blew past Grace Christian 67-46 on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bison as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Stuarts Draft's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Buffalo Gap, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.

Everything came up roses for Stuarts Draft against Buffalo Gap when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 56-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stuarts Draft since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
