Basketball Game Preview: Floresville Tigers/Jaguars vs. Boerne-Champion Chargers

Floresville and Boerne-Champion are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Floresville Tigers/Jaguars are taking a road trip to square off against the Boerne-Champion Chargers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Floresville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.

Floresville is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Pearsall: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Floresville blew Pearsall out of the water with a 63-27 final score. The Tigers/Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Floresville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amariah Ruiz, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordin Johns, who posted ten points along with seven steals and five assists.

Floresville was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Boerne-Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 57-42 to New Braunfels.

The win made it two in a row for Floresville and bumps their season record up to 10-9. As for Boerne-Champion, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Floresville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Boerne-Champion in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. Will Floresville repeat their success, or does Boerne-Champion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
