Volleyball Recap: Gateway Charter Takes a Loss

If Gateway Charter was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Clewiston on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Griffins lost 3-0 to the Moore Haven Terriers on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Griffins in their meetings with the Terriers: they've now lost five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-14.

Leading Moore Haven to victory were Kulipa Julian and Trinity Guerry. Julian had 18 digs, while Guerry had 14 assists and five digs. That's the most assists Guerry has posted since back in September.

Gateway Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Moore Haven, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Gateway Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bishop Verot on the 14th. As for Moore Haven, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marathon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
