Softball Recap: Kiski Area Takes a Loss

After flying high against Penn Hills on Monday, Kiski Area came back down to earth. The Cavaliers lost 16-2 to the Franklin Regional Panthers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Kiski Area saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyla Hutcherson, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Alyssa Perona also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Kiski Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Franklin Regional, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kiski Area will challenge Butler at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Regional, they will head out to challenge Fox Chapel at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
