Recap: Tri-West Hendricks Bruins vs. Danville Warriors

The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past Danville 42-7 at home. The result was nothing new for Tri-West Hendricks, who have now won six matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

Malachi Walden continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 224 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes. Logan Anderson was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Danville to a paltry 218 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Tri-West Hendricks' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Spencer Watson and his two sacks.

When it comes to explaining why Danville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caden Collins. Despite the final result, he picked up 181 receiving yards and a touchdown. Collins was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 69 yards.

Tri-West Hendricks' victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Tri-West Hendricks will head out on the road to face off against North Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Danville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
