Baseball Recap: Carlmont's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Carlmont took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bellarmine College Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Scots won by a run and slipped past the Bells 5-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Scots as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Grant Goetz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jason Tofigh, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Carlmont's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Bellarmine College Prep, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-8.

Carlmont has already played their next matchup, a 10-7 victory against King's Academy on the 16th. As for Bellarmine College Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Palma on the 16th.
