Basketball Game Preview: Paradise Panthers vs. Sunnyvale

The Paradise Panthers will be taking part in a tournament against Sunnyvale at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Paradise took on Gunter on Friday. Paradise lost to Gunter on the road by a 68-54 margin. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Sunnyvale had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.1 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past the Wildcats 58-36. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Sunnyvale had established a 21 point advantage.

Sunnyvale's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Paradise, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-5.

Paradise might still be hurting after the 63-40 defeat they got from Sunnyvale when the teams last played back in February of 2015. Can Paradise avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
