Baseball Game Preview: Hershey Trojans vs. Bishop McDevitt Crusaders

The Hershey Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hershey barely beat Red Land the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans blew past the Patriots 12-2 on Monday. The matchup marked the Trojans' most dominant win of the season.

Colton Fultz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Fultz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Blake Umberger, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryce Erwin, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hershey was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, neither Bishop McDevitt nor Hershey could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 6-6 tie.

Bishop McDevitt's draw gives them a new season record of 8-9-1. As for Hershey, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13-1.
