Recap: Kennedy Titans vs. Amador Valley Dons

The Kennedy Titans pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Amador Valley at home by a decisive 71-57 margin. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 587th, while Amador Valley is ranked 117th).

When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Dorsey. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was Dorsey's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Adrian Velazquez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 14 rebounds and eight assists.

Kennedy now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Amador Valley, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kennedy will challenge Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amador Valley is on the road again on Tuesday and play against California at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. California is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.5 points per game.
