Recap: South Anchorage Wolverines vs. Eagle River Wolves
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dimond, the South Anchorage Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 49-27 margin over Eagle River. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Anchorage also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.
Loss or not, Eagle River got some senior leadership from Brooklyn Rollman and Darby Buyse. Rollman dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Buyse. almost dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and nine steals. Buyse hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
South Anchorage's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Eagle River, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
South Anchorage will head out on the road to challenge the Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alaska (Bartlett is ranked 27th, while the Wolverines are ranked 33rd). As for Eagle River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Anchorage is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
