Preview: John Marshall Monarchs vs. University Hawks
John Marshall is 1-9 against University since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The John Marshall Monarchs will head out on the road to take on the University Hawks at 1:45 p.m. John Marshall has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 269 points over their last four games.
Even though Steubenville scored an imposing 60 points on Thursday, John Marshall still came out on top. John Marshall managed a 64-60 victory over Steubenville.
Meanwhile, University pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 85-56 defeat at the hands of Wheeling Park. University has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
John Marshall pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for University, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
John Marshall lost to University on the road by a decisive 69-51 margin in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can John Marshall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
