Basketball Game Preview: Simeon Wolverines vs. Westinghouse Warriors

The Simeon Wolverines will face off against the Westinghouse Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Westinghouse took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Simeon, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, everything went Simeon's way against Morgan Park as Simeon made off with a 46-21 win. The Wolverines pushed the score to 42-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs cut but never quite recovered from.

Simeon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Katelyn Sullivan led the charge by going 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dijona Berrien, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 rebounds.

Simeon was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Westinghouse was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 42-41 to Taft.

Westinghouse dropped their record down to 9-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Simeon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

Simeon was taken down by Westinghouse 53-26 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Simeon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
