Baseball Recap: Germantown Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chatham, Germantown was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Greenville Spartans by a score of 6-2. The Clippers haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brody Adickes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Schmitz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025.

Germantown's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Greenville, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Germantown and Greenville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Clippers will take on Coxsackie-Athens at 4:45 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (378 vs. 142). Meanwhile, Greenville (ranked 398th) will meet Maple Hill (ranked 118th) at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
