Soccer Game Preview: Lugoff-Elgin vs. Buford

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons will venture away from home to take on the Buford Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lugoff-Elgin and Spring Valley meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Lugoff-Elgin fell 2-0 to Spring Valley.

Meanwhile, Buford kept a clean sheet against Northwestern on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Trojans 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Buford.

Buford's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Lugoff-Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Lugoff-Elgin took their win against Buford in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lugoff-Elgin since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
