Soccer Game Preview: Porter vs. Cleveland

The Porter Pirates will head out to take on the Cleveland Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Porter had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the seven-goal drubbing they dealt Keys on Monday. The Pirates were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Cougars. Considering Porter's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cleveland). They never let Central get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Tuesday. Cleveland might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by seven goals or more this season.

Porter has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. As for Cleveland, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
