Basketball Game Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. Golden Demons

Conifer hasn't had much luck against Golden recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Conifer Lobos will square off against the Golden Demons at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Conifer will bounce into Friday's contest after beating D'Evelyn, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Conifer sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 46-44 win over D'Evelyn on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lobos have posted since December 14, 2024.

Meanwhile, Golden posted their biggest win since December 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They blew past Littleton 68-44. Given the Demons' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Lions are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Golden's record now sits at 10-7. As for Conifer, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.

Conifer was dealt a bruising 77-38 defeat at the hands of Golden when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Conifer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
