Football Recap: Burgettstown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Burgettstown extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were beaten by the Fort Cherry Rangers 42-9. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Burgettstown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brady Rightweiser rushed for 66 yards and one TD.

As for Fort Cherry, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.2 points on average this season.

Fort Cherry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matt Sieg led the charge by rushing for 84 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. Another rusher making a difference was Eli Salvini, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Burgettstown will challenge Neshannock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fort Cherry, they will face off against Cornell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
