Basketball Preview: St. Mary's Academy Crusaders vs. Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF

St. Mary's Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully St. Mary's Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.

On Monday, it was a hard-fought contest, but St. Mary's Academy had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against the Wildcats.

Despite the loss, St. Mary's Academy got a solid performance out of Nick Whitehead, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Whitehead continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Engholm, who scored 14 points along with five assists.

Meanwhile, even though Lincoln HomeSchool scored an imposing 67 points on Saturday, Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF still came out on top. Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF walked away with a 74-67 win over the Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF.

St. Mary's Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

St. Mary's Academy came up short against the in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 46-37. Can St. Mary's Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
