Baseball Game Preview: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. MacArthur Generals

The Galena Park Yellowjackets will be taking part in a tournament against the MacArthur Generals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Galena Park is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Galena Park proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pasadena Memorial 4-3.

Cesar Amador was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Amador wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hector Arrieta, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, MacArthur made sure to put some runs up on the board against Alief Hastings on Friday. MacArthur put the hurt on Alief Hastings with a sharp 13-6 win. The Generals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Galena Park's record is now 5-0. As for MacArthur, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Galena Park's way against MacArthur in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Galena Park made off with a 7-1 win. Will Galena Park repeat their success, or does MacArthur have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
