Pioneer Valley Regional extends road losing streak to three

Recap: Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers vs. Franklin County Tech Eagles

After flying high against the Athol Bears last Monday, the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers came back down to earth. Pioneer Valley Regional took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin County Tech. Pioneer Valley Regional has not had much luck with Franklin County Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Hannah Gilbert was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Franklin County Tech. Gilbert hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Lea Chapman, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Pioneer Valley Regional's loss was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Franklin County Tech, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pioneer Valley Regional will take on Turners Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Turners Falls and Pioneer Valley Regional are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Franklin County Tech, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Montachusett RVT at 6:30 p.m.
