Football Game Preview: Hickory Hawks vs. Robbinsville

Hickory Hawks will challenge Robbinsville on the road at 7:30 PM on Friday. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Hickory Hawks, but that can only make success all the sweeter.

Things haven't been easy for Hickory Hawks, and their match last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They took a 12-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carolina Christian Cavaliers. Hickory Hawks's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Tony Parks, who picked up 104 yards on the ground. Parks has been a consistent playmaker for Hickory Hawks as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.

Meanwhile, Robbinsville ran circles around Hayesville last Friday, and the extra yardage (489 yards vs. 60.1 yards) paid off. Robbinsville steamrollered Hayesville 55-9. The lopsides score is just par for the course this season for Robbinsville, who can brag about four blowout wins.

Robbinsville's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Hickory Hawks's loss dropped them down to 1-6. In their victory, Robbinsville relied heavily on junior Rylee Anderson, who rushed for 136 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hickory Hawks will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
