East Carter had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Ellington on Tuesday. The Redbirds' pitchers stepped up to hand the Whippets a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Redbirds, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

East Carter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Ellington, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Carter will face off against Bunker at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ellington, they will host Winona at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.33 runs per game on average), something the Whippets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
