Baseball Game Preview: Sutter Huskies vs. Dixon Rams

For the second straight game, Sutter will face off against Dixon. The Huskies will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sutter has five straight wins, Dixon has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Sutter came out on top against Dixon on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Huskies took their match against the Rams 8-3.

Mason McCall looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sam Cheatle was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had over his last nine contests. Another player making a difference was Brady Wickum, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Sutter pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dixon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14-1.
