Who's up and who's down

The postseason has brought with it a whole lot of change in the power rankings. Among the action were the efforts of Cookeville's senior David Gist, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.

Welcome

The power rankings welcomes a newcomer to the scene as Alcoa earned the 23rd spot after its strong showing last week. Everything went its way against Roane County as it secured a 42 - 0 win. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected Alcoa as the clear winner.

Can't Touch This

Cookeville's 56 - 17 win over Riverdale last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior David Gist. Gist rushed for 254 yards and five touchdowns. That performance made Gist one of the best players in the power rankings last week.

After a challenging last week, Germantown now finds itself down 12 power ranking positions. No one has a better right to be disappointed since that was the biggest drop of the week. It was close but no cigar, losing to White Station 17 - 14. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Germantown after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.

No Stoppin 'Em

91. That was the combined point total for McCallie and Briarcrest Christian when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. McCallie took its contest against Briarcrest Christian by a conclusive 56 - 35 score. The win raised McCallie up three spots in the power rankings.
