Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wildcats vs. Martinsville Artesians
Mt. Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Martinsville Artesians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.
Mt. Vernon was not held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 27-25.
Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Martinsville, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.
