Baseball Recap: Roane County's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Roane County got themselves on the board against Harriman on Friday, but Harriman never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Blue Devils. The victory was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won four matches in a row.

Roane County got a big performance out of Blake Herrell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Herrell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Lawson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Herrell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Roane County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Roane County's record now sits at 10-3-1. As for Harriman, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roane County will venture away from home to face off against Sweetwater at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Harriman, they will head out to challenge Oakdale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Harriman's pitchers better be ready for this one: Oakdale has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
