After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sierra Pacific, Washington Union was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 13-9 win over the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Callie Flores made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off 12 hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoe Freitas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Montes De Oca, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Washington Union kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Washington Union's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Central Valley Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Washington Union will take on Madera South in a tournament on Saturday. As for Central Valley Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Immanuel at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
