Basketball Recap: Clyde Takes a Loss

Clyde lost against Wall back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Clyde Bulldogs took a blow against the Wall Hawks, falling 61-33. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Hawks are ranked 150th).

Despite the loss, Clyde still got an impressive performance from Madeline Underwood, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Underwood has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 17 times she's played.

Even though they lost, Clyde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

With the defeat, Clyde broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-9. As for Wall, they pushed their record up to 21-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clyde will challenge Jim Ned at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wall, they will take on Cornerstone Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
