Basketball Recap: Centerville Comes Up Short

Centerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Groveton Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since January 30, 2024.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Groveton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Centerville will be playing in front of their home fans against Grapeland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Groveton, they will square off against Leon at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Leon's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Groveton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
