Basketball Recap: Breighlee Moracco's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Caldwell over Waterford

The Caldwell Redskins were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 40-34 to the Waterford Wildcats.

Caldwell lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Breighlee Moracco, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 24 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mea Hendershot, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Caldwell will head out to challenge Bishop Rosecrans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Waterford, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Monroe Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
