Basketball Recap: Maysville Falls Short of Morgan in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maysville can now relate to. They lost 48-24 to the Morgan Raiders on Wednesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 37-32.

Gianna Myers was the offensive standout of the match as she posted 14 points and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Morgan's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is 6-3 (and 7-8 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Myka Augenstein, who scored five points and seven rebounds.

Maysville has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season. Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Maysville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morgan, they have already played their next match, a 37-29 defeat against Carrollton on the 22nd.
