Softball Recap: Pine City Comes Up Short

Pine City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mora Mustangs, falling 11-1. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 27-20 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Pine City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brecklyn Nicoll, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Pine City's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Mora, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Pine City will head out to challenge Hinckley-Finlayson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mora, they will host Moose Lake/Willow River at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
