Abingdon/Avon came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Canton Little Giants 7-0. Abingdon/Avon might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by four goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Canton from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Kolbe Hightower led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Abingdon/Avon's win bumped their record up to 11-5-1. As for Canton, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Abingdon/Avon will head out to square off against Roanoke-Benson/Eureka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canton, they will venture away from home to challenge Riverdale at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
