Basketball Game Preview: Eastmoor Academy Warriors vs. Marion-Franklin Red Devils

Eastmoor Academy is a perfect 10-0 against Marion-Franklin since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eastmoor Academy Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Marion-Franklin Red Devils at 1:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Eastmoor Academy had just enough and edged Beechcroft out 61-59.

Eastmoor Academy found their leader in sophomore Dekar Moultry, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 boards. Those 15 rebounds gave Moultry a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Wooden, who posted seven points along with nine boards and six assists.

Meanwhile, Marion-Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 71-64 to Mifflin.

Eastmoor Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Marion-Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.

Everything came up roses for Eastmoor Academy against Marion-Franklin in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured an 80-39 victory. In that game, Eastmoor Academy amassed a halftime lead of 53-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
