Baseball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lexington last Saturday, Lawrence County came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 11-8 to the Marshall County Tigers on Monday. Even though they lost, the Wildcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Alex Bedford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Lawrence County: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Moore, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lawrence County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Marshall County, their record now sits at 8-14.

While Lawrence County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
