Basketball Game Preview: Robinson Knights vs. Lennard Longhorns

The Robinson Knights just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Lennard Longhorns at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Robinson came up short against Bloomingdale and fell 57-44. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while the Bulls are ranked 240th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lennard, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Freedom 80-53 on Friday.

Lennard's win came from a few key players Robinson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nate Montalvo, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 19 points along with five boards and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Edgar Delvalle was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Lennard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.

Lennard is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Robinson, they dropped their record down to 4-18 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Robinson strolled past Lennard when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 67-50. Does Robinson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lennard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
